Changing The Face Of Reflexology |
When I started offering foot reflexology services in 1991, very few people
in my area knew what it was or how beneficial to health it could be.
Massage therapies were starting to gain popularity for health and healing
purposes, along with numerous other holistic modalities, rather than being
mere luxuries for pampering at a spa. While massage therapists learn
basic reflexology during their education, reflexology is not a
massage therapy. Reflexology is decidedly a separate and effective
modality all on its own, with roots going back thousands of years.
As part of my reflexology certification, I had to find people willing to give this "new" modality a try and provide feedback. To their delight, after a full, complete foot reflexology session, they reported feeling relaxed and revitalized; sleeping better; relief from pain, swelling, and discomfort; as well as looking and feeling younger. In short, they were pleased and word began to spread about my reflexology service. Even though foot reflexology had been well studied and documented as it evolved from its ancient roots as an effective healing modality, some people cannot have their feet touched, do not like having their feet touched, or do not have feet. To further develop my ability to serve more people, I learned to apply reflexology principles to the hands. The hands reflect parts of the body in a similar way as the feet. Stimulating hand reflex points, then, provides similar benefits as points on the feet. An added benefit is achieved when reflex points on both the hands and feet are stimulated directly or energetically. Stimulating reflex points on the feet and hands is an effective way to induce relaxation and promote revitalization. Sometimes, though, channels between the feet/hands and associated organs or systems are blocked. To make reflexology sessions more effective for my clients, especially those with severe conditions, I expanded my skills by learning ear reflexology. Just about everybody has ears and they are close to the brain, which makes them convenient for accessing effective reflex points. Much awakening happens using reflex points on the ears, hands, and feet to encourage your body to restore its natural harmony. So far, my journey as an evolving reflexologist may sound simplistic. While educating myself and developing my proficiency in contemporary reflexology methods over the years, I learned other modalities along the way to incorporate into my client sessions so they could move toward experiencing optimal health. You can read more about those by clicking here. Integrating multiple modalities into my foundation of reflexology practice has allowed me to provide each client with a unique experience to address their individual needs. From my humble beginnings in 1991, the little-known healing art and science of reflexology has become a true profession for me. I am grateful to have been able to support the health goals of so many people in a relaxing, non-invasive way. I am also honored to have studied under the world-renowned pioneering reflexotherapist, Lone Sorensen, who is changing the face of reflexology. The effectiveness of her Sorensensistem Facial Reflex Therapy surpasses all previous evolutions of reflexology that I have been able to previously provide. This is an exciting evolution for me and my clients because of the vastly superior results and seemingly miraculous improvements that people can experience. Having nearly direct connections to your brain make this Facial Reflex Therapy system truly one of the most effective natural modalities for your health maintenance and restoration. Whether you have experienced traditional reflexology with limited results or have never experienced reflexology, I invite you to experience modern reflexology at its finest. I am one of only a small number of reflexologists in the United State certified by Lone Sorensen to both practice and teach her Sorensensistem Facial Reflex Therapy. Make reflexology part of your health maintenance program - "It's A Whole Body Experience!" Please contact me for an appointment. I look forward to talking with
